Heres a few pics of a project (not mine) that I am involved in. Wont bore with details. Long story short is we were sitting there looking at it after just returning from a Goodguys National show. There were probably 30 trucks. All laying running boards. All very cool in their own rite..............bla bla bla. So heres what we came up with. Let me know what you think.

Crazy. How do you plan on setting up the bed/rear fenders? All those old trucks are stepsides right?

Well its a 55 series one on an 85 s10fl frame. Its got a rack now instead of a gear box. The rear frame has been reworked with some 2x3 and the entire frame has been boxed and all seams holes etc have been welded smooth and metal finished. The original intent was for the running boards to lay on the ground, some 20s etc. Just a clean lil hot rod inspired truck. Tube upper and lower control arms and with a little more messaging it will lay running boards. Like I said, the semi wheels were after an evening of brain storming. Owner joke we should put some 26s on it I have off another project and post some pics to mess with people. Then I got the vision! I already had some square body drop spindles and 8 lug hubs collecting dust. And my buddy donated a late 90s dodge 8 lug rear. A couple long nites and here we go.

What the coming weeks bring? Gonna narrow the axle to bring the proportions in a little bit. The bed will consist of a scratch built bed. Any where from 6 to 8 inchs wider the additional width need put into stretching the original fender. So yes it will stay a step side. Just a bit wider. Gonna put that subble arc of the back cab wall into the front of the bed. The running boards will be reworked and probably incorporate the exhaust.

Motor wise.....yes id love to see a diesel in it. Black smoke rollolin out the pipes. Wooooohooooo....but sadly it will most likely retain the small block thats sitting between the rails. Unless we come accross a smoking deal on something more fitting.

Ill keep you gentlman posted. W all know how much time working all the details take. Ill really loving he results so fwr. Hope you enjoy too.

F'in cool....REALLY f'in cool. Nice you went with the 54-55 cab too so you have the one piece windshield. Something about the split on the older ones looks a little hokey to me unless it's an all-original truck.

Now you get to argue with 75% of the people you meet when you tell them it's a 55...
