wasup fellas looking at stock flooring my dually on 24s with about a 3 to a 3 1/2 Z in the front. Right now I'm thinking of using 2x4x1/4 wall from the Z back with a narrowed back half and suspension moved to the inside of the frame and bags over axle shortened axle as well.I would love to have everybody with knowledge and or experience with this input. would like to be able to tow with it as well. should I use a different size and thickness square tubing ect.???

If your gunna do fire wall back go with 3x5 1/4wall, somthing bigger than 2x4, and put the bag over the axle but under the notch if possible...theres not much room between the frame and the rearend unless your running a small bag, and ull need some lift bodyd on 24s...and shortening the rear end makes it a lil worse on room wise but is better than doin "stupid ass fenders" i gave up on stretching mine and chunked them...beds are over rated hahaha. If you plan on pulling anything with it bag it over axle....and make sure you have thick link bars too...none of that kp bolt on bs....they cant handle it, better togo big than go watchin your rear end fall out down the highway

stretched fenders is so badass looking...but as everything out there, we all have our opinions

thanks for your input huck. I also like the look of stretched fenders but if I can shorten the axle some to keep the truck from being so much wider I will. I really dont have to shorten the axle though.

get a SRW rear axle....they shorten them so you dont have to widen fenders but theres no way around it your gonna have to section and raise them...i used a SRW axle out of a 97 chevy 2500 on my 85 dually and it worked great....out trucks are diff bodystyles but same principles for both
heres my stock rear and SRW

frame to wheel clearance...notice i had plenty of room to mount 2 link and shocks

thanks comegetsome.. did you have the srw shortened or did you run it as is. the pics help a lot. a lady backed into my rear wheels a few months ago bent my rear suspension (leaf springs and shackles) so its undetermined yet that the inner axle shaft isnt bent too. run that srw rear end and solve the problem.
the rear frame behind the passenger step notch is bent down about a 1/4 inch but level in front of notch this is my reasoning for back halfing the truck from cab back plus i can narrow the frame for moving the link bars to the inside of frame and not use spacers attached to the frame. fellas all your inputs are welcome Im on my own out here. These guys here are into jacked up trucks not lowering so i have no one to consult or kick tires with. this will be my first body over frame body drop. sorry for writing a book here.

Ya I've thought about doing the srw axle but haven't talked to anybody or seen any pics if the tires or wheel would be rubbing the frame, looks good though ....don't get me wrong I love the whole wide ass rear end look too...but I saw how Eric at (Little Shop Of Horrors) did the red one and they shortened the axle and tnwheel and tire faced the wheels to take that extra width off and all they had todo is cut the top of the fender and raise it.....I just started tearing mine apart lastnight axles in the garage bout to get smoothed and tabs welded for 3 link...ill post pics when finished

man unless you just have your heart set on the backhalf i would straighten what you got if its only 1/4 inch off....i could straighten that with my farm tractor lol....but let me advise not moving all you link bars to the inside of the frame...i done this on my 03 sierra on 26s and i got some annoying rear body roll because all the four link was mounted so close to each other near center of truck...dont know if youve ever experienced this but i didnt care to much for it...just some more personal experience
