75' idk how many hours ive put in yet lol. man it would scare me to set back and count them up prolly! that April dead line is whats pushing me though!

idk yet about the dash. they are both 63" wide and the distance from the driver side edge to the center of the steering wheel are both 15" and the new body dash is 16" tall and the old dash is 14" tall.

for the gauges, im gonna keep the newbody bezel with those half circles in it, then make a backing plate with individual gauges thatll fit the arrangement of the new bezel. im gonna completely cut the old dash out and just make a bracer bar across the cab thatll use the factory dash bolt holes. thats the plan anyway lol.

thanks for the props man! im givin it my dambest lol. the truck has 265/40/22. they are just a hair taller than the factory 235/85/16's. the truck will lay flat with the factory tires. 29.5" or 29.75" tall if i remember correcty.

i dont like that old dashes either 75' lol. they just dont look right to me. my main thing is how shallow they are from the windshield. i want something usualble for like long trips thats functional and just looks cool but its so flashy that is takes away from everything else.

those new dashes just look awesome i think! i really the way the a/c vents are in them. and itll go good with my chevy cobalt bucket seats, same time period, same style and colors.

So how bout using the 07 up A/C behind that dash....have you give any thought into that.....i would contemplate doin that dash swap later on if i could reuse that factory A/C outta newer truck i can prolly get it from junkyard for 100 bucks compared to 6-700 for Vitage air

yeah man thats pretty engenious too! ill look into too, then you could use the new body A/C control head too! like a plug n'play sorta thing. i just wonder if itll all work out cuz i think that stuff is integrated into the body control module (BCM) in the new body stuff.

itd be worth looking into! i cant wait till my student loans come in! lol. bein broke blows! haha!

yeah man i thought about the u joint situation and i think i might go to the junkyard and see if i can get the dodge yoke and driveshaft cut the shaft and make a hybrid shaft with a gm joint on one end and dodge on the other....kind of a frankenshaft, that way it would always be easy to find a u joint even if i were far from home

i thought about the "frankenshaft" thing, itd prolly be the best route really. i found the u joint at a driveshaft though, they are like $35 bucks. the shaft would prolly be pushin $100 by the time they balance it, and my rear shaft has to be shortened also so thats $200+

im still thinkin it over. thats all i like makin the truck mobile though.
