the story starts off like this. i purchased a 01 chevy 3500 this past winter for a pretty decent price. but like my luck goes about a month into it the motor blew. So now i figure what better time to do some customizin right!!! I honestly dont know where to start but ive did some research on the body drops and baggs. This is def the direction i want to go. Ive tore all the interior out ive done alot with fiberglass in the past. im pretty good in that area. as for the choppin well this is all gonna b new. Im gonna attemp to do the build myself so any advice yous guys could offer id be glad to except it. ive saved hundreds of pics ive found on here and also vids off youtube for some design ideas. i def want to go with the 24.5's im still deciding on wich ones, and color of paint, and a few othere things too. i guess right now im gonna remove the body and go from there.[]

well pics i will take as i go. and yes i do know how to weld. ive just never fabricated any trucks. i was always into muscle cars. fast sleds and bikes. i was at the syracuse nationals last year in ny and saw a few trucks lowered and thought it was def sharp looking. so i went on a spree looking for a dually project. i found this one and here i am looking for some advice. ive also been doin some research on motors n trans. i called ppe yesterday and the talk a pretty good game. ive youtube some of there builds and im def impressed. i havent seen any duallys yet with 24s racin down the strip lol but hey you never know. i hvae alot going on right now with work so my project is going to start on sunday morning cant wait....

Well you need to decide what you wanna run for the rear... 2, 3, 4, 6 link. See which one requires what kind of modifications so everything fits/works. There are also kits for the front (I believe ekstensive makes one for your truck) along with drop spindles.

Start off with deciding with how low you want to go and go from there.

I couldn't agree with Carlos more. The biggest piece of advice I can give you to save you a lot of time is, Sit down and make a list. Every time I start a truck I sit down and make a list of mods. It's very, very easy to get your truck tore down and get side tracked with time consuming, money eating mods that you never planned on doing from the beginning. Just write down what mods you want to do and how you plan to do it. Hang it on the wall in your shop and as you get something finished check it off. That also keeps me motivated watching the list get smaller.
Just be realistic with your goals. Challenge yourself, but don't cut your frame into tiny pieces planning on making a tube chassis, and than realize you don't quite have the skill to pull it off lol.
