well i have been trying to work on my truck as much as i can this past week. working double shifts doesnt leave much time for it but ive managed to get a few things done

got the front clip off....pulled back the carpet....found some rot on the passenger floor board and a smaller spot on the drivers side near the trans tunnel.

cut out the trans tunnel for the cummins and nv5600 and tried dropping it in tonite....got a little more of the fireall to cut before i can get it on the motor mounts....neighbors came out complaining at 11pm about the noise and they werent too happy about my offer of earplugs....so i stopped for the night here's a few pics for yall to look at

it is finally in...what a complete pain in the ass! still need to make a transmission crossmember before i can air it out but it looks like i might have gotten lucky. the oil pan sits at least 1/2 inch above the crossmember and beforehand with no motor weight the cross member sat at least 1.25" off the ground fully aired out. now to go source some steel for the trans mount!

does the 5600 have a fixed yoke for the driveline or is it like a turbo 350 and the shaft slides into the trans?

shaft slides in like a 350

here she is back on the ground. didnt get much done today, had to go do some chores for my mom at her house.....got it layed out again and have plenty of driveline clearance. oil pan clears by a good 3 inches. also started shaving the firewall where the old a/c box was. also need to build a front crossmember.....not happy with the fact i had to cut it to get clearance for the harmonic balancer

well a quick update.....

i havent actually done much work to the truck in the past month. i did have to put the front clip back on as one of my lovely neighbors called code enforcement on me for having it dismantled. i also had to move it to the other side of my driveway and push it up to the house and buy a complete truck cover for it. i did however get my rear doors swapped for a nice rust free set of suburban doors i got when i bought the truck.

the rest of my time has been spent buying parts:

new ceramic clutch and flywheel, shift fork, new hydraulic slave clinder and hoses, and i bought a complet dodge pedal assembly

just bought the accuair valves and elevel kit from Monzter Kustomz here on the board. excited to start getting that plumbed and working decided to use copper hardlines instead of DOT tubing so input is welcome on this

and i purchased a set of freightliner directional 22.5's with adapters that i found for a steal.....they will need to be milled and polished but i couldnt pass up the deal.

and now that i have wiped out my savings for a while lol its time to start working more OT at work and squeezing in wrench time at home. oh and just for shits and giggles and to appease code enforcement, i cut my factory hood to clear the cummins for now lol

Looking man! Wish i was getting progress, but have been out of commision. I will be getting the accuair setup too. Be sure to take lots of pics of the install! Haha

How much is the motor sticking out of the hood?
bigbeardedbastard   +1y
The intake horn on the Cummins sticks out the most because of the frame being z'ed it's almost 3" above the hood..... The picture doesn't do it justice. Hoping to find a cowl hood soon for it. Don't really want to do a fiberglass hood but it can't find a 4" steel cowl for it.

just a quick update.....my wheels and adapters got here today...still need to be milled and polished but in pretty decent shape 22.5 freightliner directionals
