appreciate the info. really looking for specifics. i'll be bumping the eng to 600 hp later. i'd like to have everything set up right. the truck runs mid 12s the last time i went to the track. i run out of gear just after the 8th mile. i'm changing the rear end, going with 308s instead of the stock 390s.

You might want to start a new thread for the specific info you are looking for, most just swap out the rear axle with one from a Toyota pickup truck and use Toyota Spindles. Rangers, Explorers and Mustang axles come in 8.8 with a lot of aftermarket parts to handle the power. They are the same bolt pattern 5x4.5

I love your truck, it's definitely a sleeper right now. I had no idea a motor that size would fit. Do you have any pics from when you did the swap?

Of course I have pics. I have photo documented most everything I've done.
So here we go with the pics again.

its been a daily driver since last june and it is sweet. not as bad as everyone would think. the throttle is really sensitive, but dooable. fun to drive. geared a little to low. stock rear end. working on that. it will be super bad ass when i'm done with it.

i tried a 1988 toyota truck spindle, rotor, and caliper set up. figured out a way that it could work except the ball joints and tie rod joints didn't match. i was really wondering if a toyota spindle set up works, what year or years would i be looking for?

ive got yota spindles and everything up front and going tp put a yota axle in the rear. 84-95 are good years. the newer the better. and the stock mazda tierods seem to fit rather well in the yota spindle. and you can redo the the ucas to fit the yota ball joint
