Came on over to get my Mazda fix... it's been too long!!

88 B2200 bought in August '11 with 154k on it, did some maintenance and fixing on it, engine blew - cracked block. Shopped around and ordered a rebuilt short block and a new head. Unbeknownst to me, no assembly lube in short block wiped out the bearings at initial start up and had low oil pressure. Rebuilt the engine myself the second time and it's been running great ever since.

Looking to sell it to raise some money to put down on a newer minivan for the Mrs. but not going to give it away because I enjoy driving it and it will last me many years with very little maintenance at this point.

At least I was able to get you your dash pad. My last trip to the yard was in December, grabbed some spares: electrical part of ignition switch, blower resistor, dimmer wheels, Cab Plus rear window hardware, driver sunvisor, etc. I did install into mine the blower motor from a 1992 Cab Plus, as the aftermarket blower motors (both VDO and from NAPA) are a mm or 2 from fitting fine in the plastic bottom housing), even tried with the 1992 plastic housing, it's like nobody ever actually TRIED their blower motor to see if it fits.

Anyway, the Prescott Valley parts yard site states that they're down to ONE 86-93 B-truck, a 1987. I believe that's a B2600 without an engine that has doors don't open. So the parts yard mother lode is done for me. Apparently, I had stumbled pon that parts yard pretty soon after it had opened, and they had bought up much of the non-running vehicles in a wide area, so there were about a dozen B-trucks. I had pulled parts for mazdatruckin members (e.g. two valve covers, some fuel injection parts, stereo consoles, updated door seals, dash pad, AC switches, etc.). I bought and installed a few replacement parts/upgrades for myself, like steering column covers, metal 3-spoke steering wheel, and a perfect hump console.

But with so few B-trucks in Arizona at all, doubt that they'll be getting more than one a year. So looks like I'll be doing any such used-parts shopping through the Internet, or Phoenix-area parts yards (B-trucks super rare there as well), and there's one brown-interior B2000 in a different parts yard up there, mostly intact.

So another "paradise" lost. FYI, that PV parts yard very rarely has any vehicles newer than 1998, not sure why, likely $$$.

Hey Steve! Glad to see you "jumped" over here!

Cusser, if ya need parts in the future, just let me know! I owe ya buddy!

I need to send some small items to a member that was on MT and I think I still have his addy in my backup of the PM's.......gotta get that done!

I had to go to the doctor yesterday....drove the little red '89 there.....I saw 4 second gen Mazda trucks (besides mine!) on the road, mostly on the way home. It's a 4 mile in town trip.....at the most! None of them looked as good as lil red though!
There are still quite a few on the roads around here.

Hey Steve! Glad to see you here. I saw you driving by last weekend (entering Bullhead) as I was going out to ride my dirt bike on the Nevada side. Your truck looks really good!

Cusser - Like I told you on the private message in MT (did ever get it?). There's a pick-a-part here in Kingman that has two B Series currently. One very clean (what a shame) red 2600i that I started taking stuff from, and a B2000 or 2200 (not sure, was arriving as I was leaving). I and I think that there's some more Bs in a yard that it's not a "you pull it" type.

No, didn't get that, hope that message didn't cause demise of MT !!!

I didn't realize you also lived in NW AZ near Steve. Anyway, I'm glad I was able to get what I did for myself and other MazdaTruckin members over the last 15 months, because it sure looks like my former "gold mine" of B-truck parts has dried up. Well, that's life !!! Nothing good lasts forever.

hey steve! welcome to the site. i live in kingman an i was actually considering buying your truck a couple weeks ago when i seen the CL ad but i was looking for more of a project truck, not something as clean as yours. anyway jus thought id mention how nice your b is and welcome you to the site!!!
steve@az   +1y
iizuka and newbie - thanks for the compliments! It's nice to know that my truck is "too clean" to cut up or make into a project. Were you the one texting me?

I've put a small change to my CL ad - added something about make a fair offer and it might be yours, or make a low offer and I'll continue to enjoy driving it myself!

Since we got the car sold, I'm not nearly as motivated to sell Snowball - I need something to drive to work! And I figure if it's only worth $2k, I can drive it a year or two and still get that out of it.

I need to make a JY run just to see what's in there now... I may have to see if I can get a hold of a nice bench seat to get Snowball back to a 3-passenger vehicle so the whole family can go along... even though Mrs. Steve literally hates the truck!

Man a good running mazda b is hard to sell. Especially a daily. Decent gas mileage, little to no maintenance and runs forever. Even when it smokes lime a train they run forever lol. Hard to get rid of something like that imo

Yep, it's going to be a tough sell - I will need to find that 1 person who is looking for something like this and is bright enough to realize how much $$ and time has been put into it already.

Bored this Sunday morning, so here's some more of my story...

Love the steering wheel and bedliner. Sucks about the motor though. Looks like you rebuilt it the right way. Very clean.
