Intro

Hey all. My name is Andy, and I am a senior in highschool. I have a 1989 b2200 cab plus. Straight pipe, lowered 3 inches, pioneer sound system. I have had it for almost a year, driven 10k miles. The truck has lead a hard life, when I got it, there wasnt a straight panel on it. I have done like 50 hours of bodywork, and it looks loads better. 163000 miles on the clock, and she developed a gnarly lifter tick, and it leaks oil like a siv. Im thinking for a summer project, turbo fe3 swap? I have done some research, and it doesnt look all that difficult. I am nowhere near a master mechanic, but I deffinately know more than most people my age. I guess the first step is finding a complete engine, wiring harness, clutch, and flywheel. I hope I will find alot of help on here. Thanks

I too got mine in high school, started similar to yours. I've had mine for around 10 years now and its still a great truck. Hope you get a long life out of it. Keep working on her and she will last forever!

Stay in high school, learn to spell "sieve" and "definitely"; I remember high school being two words. Yes, oftentimes spelling DOES matter, like when doing a search on these &^$%&*#&^*#&( computer machines.

Where are you located? I see palm trees so it looks like the southwest/California, or else the southeast. Letting everyone know where you are located will help filter offers for parts that would be awful expensive to ship... like engines.

recently experienced massive oil leaks on my truck, which sat for the better half of a decade. Found that my two big culprits were the cam and crank seals. Its the same part number for the FE/F2 engines.

Other culprits on these motors include the rear cam seal, valve cover gasket, rear main seal, and oil pan (RTV, no gasket)
