Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I joined about a month ago seeing what people had done to their trucks. Now I am willing to help as I can to others that are looking to put a ford small block in their truck. My dream is to make mine a autocross or drag truck but yet still be able to use it as an actual truck, haul a boat, bike, whatever. But today 4 years ago, my baby was born... I heard its firsts revs of its 5.0 engine today at about 6.30am. My buddy and I started this project on Jan 1st and it was driving May 1st. Its came a long way since then and still continues to change. I am looking forward to posting many more pictures (as soon as I can figure out the picture loader.)
Thanks for looking!

Ha! you are going down the same road that I did with my last truck owned it from 2003 to 2013.

Started by stripping the entire thing to a shell and having it painted then went to 5.0 carb'd auto - then to EFI - then to 5spd swap - then to vortech blower. Lots of fun and busted parts/knuckles along the way.

My good friend owns it now and I'm on to a new truck ( well actually 2).

Happy project building, and if you need any info you can feel free to ask.

well it all started when my buddy blew up the rear end "whipping donuts" until the rear end blew up. i told him i had a 302 and eventually we put it in. he ended up painting it after that. i then bought it after it was all done.
well then ill take you up on that offer! i have 3 major things i want to take care of and was wondering what you did.
1: what kind of exhaust header did you run?
2: Did you do anything to offset the extra weight in the front? bigger torsion bars, coil overs, sway bar?
3: I would like to use bigger brakes up front.

I put a (heavier)350 in mine. Then I changed the torsion bars to the 4wd bars. It didn't need it, and now it's too stiff.
Another user(mtrain) had a pair of rotors made for his twin turbo truck.

Here's his build thread.

Thanks for the link. I think I've browsed thru his build once. I don't have the money to do what he built, but I sure wish i did. Im looking for something I can go to the auto parts store and buy a pair of pads and rotors anytime i need to replace them. I'm fine with fabing a bracket if need be.

My sister has an 03 Tahoe, and the rear rotors look similar to what mtrain used. You may want to look into that as an option.
