DO NOT MOVE YOU'RE OVERLOAD TO THE TOP!!!! DO NOT MOVE YOU'RE OVERLOAD TO THE TOP!!!! DO NOT MOVE YOU'RE OVERLOAD TO THE TOP!!!!

This will destroy you're ride quality and make your ride very unsafe. That leaf is for for a reason, it holds most of the rear end weight and by moving it to the top you may snap a leaf! One thing I was going to say was that with the 4 inch block and 2 leafs removed you could run air shocks in the rear not too pricey and make for a better ride and should prevent the axle from hitting the frame. That is the only reason guys notch the frame. But not everyone does you don't have to notch it just remove your bump stops because they will hit no doubt. But with good shocks and since it isn't your daily you shouldn't have an issue with not notching it. (I am going to do a static drop until I have my bag kit but plan on trying to get away without a notch) just depends on how much clearance you have between the axle and the frame.

Here's a link on how to re-index your torsions best I could find....

Oh I thought that's how it was done. so what would be easier/or better new leafs or 3in blocks and all I do is just remove the 2 inner leafs?

Do you have a suspension shop around you? You could have your leafs de-arched which will make them lay out more in return giving you more of a drop. And still could remove the two inner leafs and do a 3 inch block. Or like you said you can buy a leaf kit I think they come from Belltech but there are others out there too. But all they are is new leafs that are not arched giving you a 3 inch drop. They are around 150 bucks from Belltech and you can have a suspension shop do it for you to your stock leafs (either as a pack or with the two inners removed) and will cost you around 50 bucks maybe less. De-arched leafs with the two inner ones removed with 3 inch blocks and lowering shocks should give you around 6-7 inches of drop.

To answer your question both will require the same amount of work (which isn't much it's fairly easy to do) If I were you judging by your wheel gap, I would call around to see if anyone can de-arch your leafs, remove the two inner leafs and add a 3 inch block with a set of new shocks. Depending on what shocks you go with you're looking at maybe around 120-160 bucks to lower the rear and the front just re-index the torsions follow the link I sent you it's step by step. And that's free except for shocks which you will want for the front. And you can get a pair for 40-80 bucks shipped all depends on the brand. Hope this helps.

so buying a pack Is that same that's having them de-arched basically?

More or less but buy buying the pack you will be getting new leafs and I believe they come with bushings too. They might lower your truck a tad more than just de-arching your stock leafs but wouldn't be much. They would more than likely be a better ride though. But they are also going to cost you more than just de-arching yours. Although if money isn't an issue then get the new leaf packs the ride quality will be better I would think. I don't think you're going to gain a lot more drop wise though. Check out that link I sent you for the lowest static drops. It will show you pics of members trucks that are running static and tell you what they are using so you can get an idea of where yours will sit.

if you are looking at the Beltech lowering springs($250) I would just do blocks($30). I thought about doing the lowering springs for a while, but the price made it it an easier decision. My truck does ride a little hard, but I cheaped out on the shocks. Next time I'm going to get better quality ones.
