Checked out the truck im looking into buying today and noticed some rust on the drivers side rail ...a good amount like brittle metal ...and Im not sure what to do ..the back has it after the c-notch which probably wouldnt be as difficult to replace but this is diff...I havent done work like that im a novice at such things and I was wondering if anyone bought a truck and had those issues and what they did...fix it themselves bring it somewhere ...or what ...also on the bed there are little line cracks on the outside near the taillights and near the rollpan as though its cracking understress...anyone else face those issues ...not sure what to do about it ...

Ok, well i saw the pic's of the ass end of that frame and there pretty bad, The ass end of my truck was pretty bad when i got it too, so bad that where was nothing to weld the c-notch too, So i decided to get rid of all the rust, i chopped the hole ass end of the truck off right after the cab and built a new one that goes completely flat on the ground then about a foot infront of the axle. I made it come up and over then straight back holding my gas tank off the ground a good bit in the back for draggin! With the bed side's if it's back by the tail light i wouldn't doubt that the guy just threw some bondo in the bed seams and the bondo always end up cracking i dont think it's anything to worry about...Sorry for the huge run on just tellin ya what i no!

The hardest part of building the new part of the frame was getting the axle back in the stock locations and in the middle so the driveshaft was straight!

yea see the c-notch was ok and the back end isnt a prob ..but this is under the cab and I dont know what to do im lost ..lol.. not sure if its worth spending 1800 to get the truck ...

i think it might be a better idea to hold out awhile longer and look for a better deal. Yea a a new frame isnt that much of a biggie, but it sounds like your going be paying 1800 for something that needs almost everything replaced. Keep cruisin autotrader.com and mautofied.com. You can find something better.

I dont no if i'd pay 1800 for it depending on how bad it is i'd pay maybe between 700 and 1000. how bad is the rust in the front? Would u be able to plate it or does it all need to be replaced. I guess it's a good thing i told ya to look!

yea thanx for telling me I mean the rust is pretty bad on one side I may need plating on the bottom and on one side but yea i mean 1800 is high but 1000 up front and 800 every now and than ...It has 4 firestone bags ...2 compressors ...5 gallon tank and a bed thats crapped ...and carb now crapped ...so I dont know I guess ill tell him not that high b/c its a friends truck

i think its gonna be a pissed off experience more than anything. Its cool that your trying to help a friend out or something but honestly if he was your friend he wouldnt be selling it for 1800 dollars.
There is a guy down here that sold his mazda it was bodydropped 3 inches, slams in the front, custom arms to lay 19s, 5 lug swapped, 4 link, shaved tailights and doors handles, and all the work was verrrryyyyy good and he sold it for 2 grand.
That truck is nowhere near the 2 grand or even 1 grand range in my opinion
