Welp.. where is it? I know its an inline fuse, but i have everything tucked away and in a thick wiring mess. The problem is my battery works fine for like a week.. and gradually has a little less power each time I start/drive it. So eventually won't crank and can't go no where. So i have put a new battery like 3 times, and I got a new alternator like a week ago.. and yet another dead battery. Soooo.. new alternator.. 3 batterys.. fuse? What u all think? And I have to be at work at 11.. so help quick lol.

the alternators on mazda's have an internal voltage regulator, (the little wire coming off of the back of the alternator) this runs to the ecu. so if you have put in a new one, you must have something that is causing the battery to drain down while the truck isn't running, make sure all accessories are off. as for an inline fuse, i don't know of one right off hand. there should be a fuse in the dash for the ignition, and one on the main fuse block in the engine compartment. check those, and look at your wiring harness for any nicks, or maybe a spot where it is shorting out. just my two sence, hope you find the prob.

thanks for the reply.. because i have a webber i unplugged a LOT of stuff that was coming off the computer.. and even cut a lot of stuff that was cluttering up the engine compartment..

yah, with a weber there is no need for the computer. the only purpose of the computer is to control the stock POS carb.

as far as your problem goes mullet. the only fuses i know of on a mazda are under the dash (as with any car) and then theres one on the passenger side fenderwell. unless its an actual inline fuse in the wire going to the starter (between alt. and starter.)

good luck and keep us posted.

something in the truck is drawing power, it could be stereo, alarm, amp, anything, theres a way to find out what it is, with a test light, ive done it many times concidering i work in a stero shop

yeah thats the problem.. no sterio.. no ac... no heater.. no drfroster. All i have eletrical inside is the dome light and the dash lights. HOWEVER i found the problem.. and i had switched the two wires going into the alternator.. the ignition wires. So i switched them up and fixed it.
Thanks for all the help..

awesome, so it just wasnt charging the batt?
mullet   +1y
no it wasn't.. altho today when i went to make a beer run.. battery is dead.. so now i'm like WTF? Dies overnight.. i'm going to rip out the ECU and hopefully fix it.
BTW.. stupid question of the year.. is the ECU passengers kick or under the drivers seat?
