Ultimate customs in Ontario has a 4.3 swap Kit - 160 us. I have seen the V8 kit and the instructions came with a very complete list and part numbers needed to complete the swap.

c-p from site -
Instructions for each kit is complete with part numbers and pictures for all steps, including wiring, plumbing, Speedo cables and rad.

Our V6 kit uses everything available from GM including a fan
Our V8 kits use G.M./Ford parts, but you are required to purchase some after market parts.
Example: 305/350Chevy and 302 Ford Kit
Short water pump
14" or two 10" fans
Rad Modification

As for transmissions, Due to the factory high gear ratio of the Mazda truck, an overdrive transmission recommended for the 305/350 kit. A TH 350/200 R4 and the 700R4 can be used.

The V6 and V8 Chevy kit complete with motor mounts, front suspension Crossmembers, hardware and instructions that give all the facts.

V6- Cost $160.00 U.S. funds
V8- Cost $195.00 U.S. Funds
Includes shipping in the Continental U.S.A.

rumour has it though that that kit needs some modification so that it doesn't sit to low

Confirmed. I had to modify the motor mounts to get them to work at all. Also, because I used a 5 spd and fuel injection almost none of the instructions helped me.

Hmmm - I was planning on running the same setup as yourself. Maybe I'll have to pass on the U/C kit then.

What did you guys have to do to the UC 4.3 kits. I have had one for 6 years or better but i just havent gotten around to using it. Now i have a chance to finally do something to my poor lil ole mazda that has been waiting patiently for years for me to regain intrest and I am hell bent that im gonna do it....

HAHA B22318 Same here - I have had my sbc UC kit for 8 years I think now. I had a 283 I was going to put in BUT lost interest in it when I lost my liscence. Now I want a more sensable swap (4.3). Still be 200 hp and 255 ft/lbs torque, with a FI vortec that is.

OH YA B22318 Welcome to the BScene.

Thanks...I have been lurking around here for quite sometime but just never posted anything...Its nice to see this many people that are interested in the mazda trucks after all these years...I have had my 91 ext. cab since 92....and a few years ago i bought a 88 ext cab off of ebay. But the poor things have just been sitting up for years. I was lucky enough to become debt free last year and i now have the means to do what i always wanted too...plus i dont have a wife telling me that i cant anymore...lol...I have a 96 vortec and a 4l60e tranny that i was gonna use in my 91 but my 92 gmc fullsize went down....and i am in the process of putting it in that truck...Yea it had a 4.3 in it already...so i can live with it...but my block out of that truck is ok...so now i will use it for my 91.....and i can build it however i want too...hehe...should be fun...

I just had to redrill the holes where the motor side and frame side mounts bolt together. No biggy, but If I'm paying for a custom mount kit, I expect things to line up. Plus it was one more time I had to pull the motor.

Anyway, I'm running the 4.3 Vortec, and as 2fine stated, it is very sensible. The power is more than enough for such a little truck, and economy is about the same as the four cylinder. Plus all the hardware from the Syclone bolts on
