modifacation, not really customization

i was lookin thru some old mini trucks mags and i was noticing somethin. i saw a lot of the same thing, over and over. s-10's, flames, caddy tails and suicide doors. now, im not bashin this stuff, im just sayin its kind of played out. custom(to me anyways) means somethin that nobody or very few people have. now i dont have all the modifacations in the world but when someone with an s-10 with flames and caddy tails says his truck is custom, then im thinkin, not really, its just highly modified. an issue or 2 ago, there was a b22 with a custom console that had the mazda logo from the tailgate, thats custom. caddy tail and suicide doors arent custom, just modifaction. anyway, i was just thinkin abou that all day. im not doin suicide doors or lambo doors, i wanna do suicide lambo, ive only seen this once or twice. anyway, all of its cool, just not custom. now go out there and make somethin custom.

Well if everyone bags there truck with a triangulated 4 then thats just a modification then right? Or everyone that uses a bridge kit?
I disagree with your mindset. If its not bolt on then most likely its custom. Have you ever put in the time to shave the tailights then throw caddy lights in? Or setup a pair of Suicide doors that dont sag and the door is aligned perfectly? Im not trying to bash but if you change a truck to meet your personality then you have customized it.

yeah i disagree too, try installing a set of caddy tails, and tell me that is just a modifictaion, when you are done 70 hours later, anything that is altered or changed on a vehicle, that involves cutting, welding or torching of some sort and that cant be bought at pep boys is custom in my opinion, i take great offense to that, i have caddy tails on my mazda and i know they are getting played, but i had them a while ago when not everyone and there mom had them done, i know it is your personal opinion, but like i said i dont agree with it at all,

also you see all that stuff on the internet and in magazines, but how many people around you actually have that stuff? I know here it is very rare to even see a truck on bags and I've never seen suicidedoors on a truck around here.

yeah dude i disagree. around here there is nothing like that. most of the rednecks around here just put big wheels, clear taillights, and some stick on flames that they bought from wal-mart and call it customized. but what you are saying about suicide lambo doors souds pretty badass. i've never seen that. have any pics? l888

true to those things, besides bags and body drop which i never get tired of seeing, just the same things. i guess what im basicly saying is that people do a lot of the samethings as in caddy tails, there 4 or 5 ppl with those around here. nobody has suicide doors, but theres sooo many lambo doors, ahh im tired of lookin at them. how i had it in my head sounded better and understandable, but somethings like that, for some reason , i just cant find the right words, ya know. the caddy tails, yes they are custom to a point, as in they arent supposed to be on that truck, but its a modifaction in the fact that its been done so many times. i knew most ppl where gonna shoot this topic down, but o well, its jus how i think. o yeah, maztang, ill try and find the issue those suicide lambos are in.

Putting caddies in is gonna require the same amount of work that goes into custom led strips and other tail light swaps. If you think something might be played out than thats your opinion. It however does not make it less custom than other things. Like I said im not trying to bash here.

cool man. i am going to try to come up with a way to put Mazarati doors on my 65 mustang fastback....never seen it done before. I do know what you mean about seeing to much of the same thing though.

i also dont mean to downsize the amount or work and time it goes into these things. anyway, i guess it all is customization, just the way i had it in my head sounded right but now that i think it about it, i dunno i guess forget the whole modifacation not customization thing, i guess im just sayin im tired of seein the same things. neway, hope i didnt affend somebody and like i said, not tryin to downsize the work or time
