We'll heres what im looking for i'd like to change the stock mazda rear out soon, Not only b/c the trucks v8ed and i don't entirly trust it but i'd like the option of different gearing, and disc brakes, i Even thought about going irs but for no i doubt i will. Does anybody no if any manufactorer made a rear about as wide as a mazda rear (if short i can deal!) with 6 lug and disc brakes thats reasonable strong? Like any pathfinders, or any other 6 lug vehicles? I'd like to get a pretty strong rear with gear options (disc brakes aren't a must) It would just be kool! Anyone have any ideas???

you could always have a full size chevy rearend narrowed to fit from a newer c 1500 moser engineering in indiana does the housing and the two axles for 220 dollars

Yea i no of a place like 30 mins from me that will shorten a 9" for like $200 but i'd like to keep 5lug i was thinkin about the chevy rear, but if possible i'd like to find something already close or narrower for some fat tires=)

thunder bird turbo coupe rear end will work like a mustang rear end, but its a 4 bolt and u can change the gears and shit inside with mustang stuff

I did a quick measurement of my pathfinder and from backing plate to backing plate they are roughly the same. My pathy has a LSD with disc brakes. I plan on doing this eventually after some more measruing. BUt you still have a low geared rear

What gearing is in the pathfinders? Low is alright if its not like 4.11's or something i wanna be fast off the line but i also wanna be able to cruise the highway.lol...

yota 4wd rear end can be used they are 6 lug, & there are diff gear ratio's ranging from 3.58, 3.90, 4.10, 4.11, and you can get a disc conversion from downey off road.

Maz, you got a Pathfinder? That vehicle could contain some potential upgrades for us beyond the disc brake rear. I like the seats, the front discs are the same style but larger, twin piston calipers, larger master cylinder, etc.
