In the light of $71/bbl crude, who's considered a diesel? Maybe a VW or old Toyota motor?

I don't empathize with the greenies much, but I like the idea of running my truck on veggie oil. Ya know, worst case apocalyptic scenarios I can grow my own soybeans.

Not to get too apolitical here, but does anybody else notice the amount of major events destabilizing the price of gasoline lately? Seems like if you sneeze they go out and adjust the numbers accordingly.

on the west coast diesel is more expensive. get a diesel truck, no smog and you can swap the motor.

thought about a turbo deisel with propane injection........ couyld be super economical, and fast as shit

wouldn't mind finding a wrecked jeep liberty with the crd (common rail diesel engine) it has a 2.7l 4 cyl turbo, 300 ft. lbs. of torque, and 160 hp. with a 20.5 gal tank, it's supposed to have a range of 500 miles = 24.39 mpg....still not to good for a diesel, but i think with our truck being like 3000 lbs lighter it would be dooable, and the mpg would go up too!

isn't there diesel version of the early 2600 engine? i have heard there is and that it is a direct bolt in....

it would be pretty trickey to get a diesel to work in our trucks i think

if i'm not mistaken there are overseas diesel versions of both the 2200 & 2600 engines

weird! we have one at work with 287,000 kms and it runs mint, silent and smooth as a baby's bum bum.............not sure how it would ruin the engine?

propane injection works like nitrous does on gasoline vehicles
