Hello,

new member here, I am from vancouver, BC and have a stock (not for long) '91 b2600i ext cab.

well there was alot of rain over the past few days and now that its dried up i am hearing some water sloshing around. it sounds like it might be in the bed or below the ext cab. so any ideas where this water might be or where to look for leaks... obviously i dont want this water sitting around. or am I a total newb and its the gas tank, altho i dont think so cause i didnt hear it before the rain.

another question, will nissan xterra 16x7 rims fit on my ride? ie, bolt pattern and fittment. i think they are the stock 4 spoke rims. i plan to static drop the truck 3" in the future with drop spindles and the Belltech kit.

thanks!

First of all, welcome to the site. Good to see another Canadian onboard!

It's quite a possibility that sloshing noise is your fuel tank, especially if you're running around with less than half a tank. You probably didn't hear it before the rain because you has more gas in your tank, lol.

Otherwise, the only place I can think of water getting trapped is in the bed itself and you'd see it,but since you said it's dried up...

Fill up your tank and see if it still sloshes. I know mine does it when I get around a quarter tank.

As for the Xterra rims, are they 6 bolt? If they're 6 bolt and from Nissan, they should probably fit. Many guys including myself run Pathfinder rims on our trucks. I also have an Isuzu Rodeo which is 6 bolt, and I currently have Pathfinder rims on it. 6 bolt GMC/Chev/Cadillac rims fit too. Escalade chrome rims are a popular mod,but the centre of the rims need to be drilled out a bit to clear the hubs. Z71 rims will bolt right on.

Give the Xterra rims a try. If they're the gunmetal 4 spoke ones, they would look killer!!

I'm also planning on lowering my truck in the spring, using AIM drop spindles, the Belltech leaf kit and Toxic drop shocks.

Hi and thanks for the welcome and reply!

I will fill up and see if thats the case with the sloshing. if it is the gas tank... damm I will have to keep topped up cause that will get annoying or just get a killer system installed.

Yup they are the 16" 4-spoke gunmetal xterra rims and are 6-bolt. only problem is im broke! and he is asking 100 a rim. hmmmm... choices, to wait or splurge and eat mac and cheese for months....

ive been doing some research and thats probably the exact drop im going to do myself!

Canada represent!

wow another westcoaster...welcome....

As for the water, ,my boys did that too and it turned out te be water trapped within the rer body panels on his 90 reg cab. sucks to say, but source the leak out and fix it....the right way.

As for the wheels I believe they will fit. The xterra bolt pattern is 6 x 139.7 and coincidentally so is the mazda from 77 to 93. the mazda has a 108 mm center bore, and the nissans, well I just dont know, and I really don't know about the offset, but I am thinkin that the offset wont let the truck be bagged????

take your interior extended cab panels out on one side and check inside the cab cavity to see if you have water . my old extended cab had that problem .. what it is is the seal /molding around your extended cab isn't sealed 100% this could also be the exterior trim (chrome around the window's ) You would have to fix that so it gets rid of that problem . also i had problem with water in the location where the jack and bar that you use to get the spare down from the rear of the truck .. this compartment is in the floor under the flip down jump seats on the drivers side . Lookin there as well. i never really sourced why mine did what it did sense i junked my truck when the drive shaft u joint broke one day - it needed gone .

to find mazda bolt pattern you can look at last months issue of mini truckin ( the nov- issue with the green hardbody on the cover ) it is the rim issue and it lists the bolt pattern and what mm it is .

mazda's b-series 86-93
off set is : 0.25mm
bolt pattern : 6x 139.7 mm (6.5x5 )

sense they don't list xteras i'll list hardbody:
off set : 15-25mm
hub bore : 100 mm
bolt pattern : 6x139.7 (6x5.5)

now -
there are ppl how bore out the rims of titans and the armadas' , and lincoln navis as well - as caddy rims and path finders .

pick up your november issue and look thru it for you self. peace.

Wow, thanks for all the great replies.

It raises a couple more questions though. How would I go about sourcing the leak in the moulding around the chrome, it looks in very good condition? and how do i remove the panels in the ext cab, they just pop out?

thanks again for the awesome and quick replies, glad i found the bscene!

It sucks but you have to remove the interior, and it does take some time....figure a full day tosource the leak and fix it right....

If you need help you are more than welcome to come out to my place and I can give you a hand with it.
