Nothing like starting out young, because that's when you learn so much and that stuff will stay with you for the rest of your life.
My first car was an '87 Toyota Celica GTS that my dad bought for me. I had worked summer jobs since I was 15 to save up to buy a car when I got my licence. Shortly after I got my licence,my dad won a $15k jackpot at the casino and he was willing to give me $5000 cash to do whatever I wanted with,or buy me a car up to $5k. We found this mint Celica sitting in the back corner of a used car lot for $3695.
Before I got my licence,I was never really into modifying cars very much. I was more into classic stuff that if it was modified, was done all to the taste and spec of the era. I used to laugh at Hondas with kits...well,I admit I still do..but once I got the Celica,it was a pretty rare car (86-89s are impossible to find here),I drove it stock for about 3 months before I started getting the itch to put some wheels on it,tint the windows, put a stereo in it and basically make it my own. I drove that car all through highschool, from grade 10-12,and while all the other guys had their GMC pickups and riced out beat up Hondas,I was sitting in the lot pimpin the ladies with a super clean Celica. Let's just say that car only seated 4 people, but I fit 6 girls and myself in it once. lol,a lot of the time I'd randomly get girls coming up to me asking me if I could drive them home after school and stuff.
Hopefully the Mazda ends up like that, haha ....bah,women cost as much money as my truck. I'd rather have my truck because I know it won't cheat on me or leave me. "Hey,I saw you looking at that Hardbody! Don't even think about it,Mazda!"
