Bluetooth is used in more applicatins than just phones. Using a phone would be cool, I guess but there would be drawbacks. You would probably have to call a reciever in your truck, which would use airtime. Then you run the risk of dropping the "call" or can't even call it all with no signal! Then, if you were lowered you would'nt be able to raise it!

Just a thought...

Grav, thats more than SMOKIN'! That would have been HOOOT! I would have bought it soooo quick!

Phatkix, if you wanna sell it, let me know! I'm almost 100% sure that you can get a function on your alarm for your bags. So like in my idea, I arm my truck and it will automatically lower the truck so no one can slice the bags or get under it to cut anything, etc! It probably would cost quit a bit to have done though. I'm going to check into it!

Well, I'm gonna try and atleast give my pops some money and trade my controller for one of his. Its clear and when theres power it lights up green!

Have done the alarm to hydraulics/airbags setup - very cool. The system I used was an older Viper system. Not having power door locks, I hooked up the "Lock" output to a 4 pole single throw relay from Radio Shack (can probably get the part #). Also had to reprogram alarm for the old Mercedes Benz door locks which required a 3 sec pulse instead of the normal 1 sec. The hooked up another relay to the power trunk to pancake up. Definately a lot of fun at car shows

I talked to Car Toys and they said they would be able to do it. Lol, now its just a matter of time of getting the airbag setup in! Woo! It'll definitely be cool to have.

some alarms like compustar and viper have boxes so you can have like 12 output channels.....I run a pancake up and down on my alarm.

my autoloc system is a 6channel and you only need 1 per door, so i have 4 unused channels to do a front up front down rear up rear down, or pancake or whatever... i've thought about it before, but sometimes i push buttons on accident in my pocket, that would be bad...

Well, it would'nt be very bad at all. With mine, you have to hold the button for a second to arm or disarm it. The pancake function would only apply when you arm and disarm it! Even then, if the suspension was tampered with to raise or lower it, the tilt sensor would set the alarm off!

A couple things, I would like to know how to use a game controller to wire it up to the airbag system! Grav, any chance you could explain how to wire up the pancake funtion to the alarm? I'd like to know, so MAYBE I could save myself money and DIMyself!

for the game controller, i think a few companies sold a playstation lookalike controller that was already wired to do what we'd want. to make an actual ps controller work you'd have to have some electronics experience with tiny stuff. i'd assume you'd need to make a little green 'brain board' or motherboard or whatever they're called. idk for sure, but that's what i assume.
