anyone ever heard of using chains to limit the suspension so your truck will hop when you air it up?

Ya I have a few guys that us it on there hydro cars but I haven't seen many us it for they're air ride the only guys I know of is kevin at aac on they're hopper but it's just a frame and body no guts but it pops up about 10 feet off the ground.

ya those hoppers are the shit, i heard you can use them and it will make it hop like two inches but these guys around here are usually talking out of there ass

The chains do not limit the hieght of a hop but it will help from over extending your bags or hydros.

Go to an interior shop and get them made with seat belt material. Looks better and less noisy than chain and strong enough for any "normal" air ride setup. I highly recomend these for air ride setups from experience. I blew a bag last year doing about 100 from over extending a bag. Not fun and not safe.

you are correct but it also does help you hop, when I had the front end chained it would pull 3-4" i took them off and it barely see's 2"

I like chains for the fact when the truck is locked up at full lift you dont have to worry about blowing a bag from extending it to far, or when you are testing the waters with the amount of pressure to try to hop.

SierraX how the heck did you get a dawg up to 100? lol

No my full size not the Mazda and its 100 KPH not miles. Hell, 100 KPH's hard for the mazda.

so would you guys recommend some type of limiting strap?

I would just for the purpose, that you wouldnt over extend your bag beyond its limit in case you ever got a little hop happy in the future.
