Help Diagnosing Fuel Gauge Issues...

Once u drop tank and take out the sending unit,u will see what looks like a small dipstick with a slider attached to it.The fuel gauge operates off the resistance from that slider.Dont use abrasives but use a liquid cleaner to clean the slider,then use a contact cleaner on the electrical connections.Be careful when u pull the sending unit out and dont drop a bunch of dirt in ur tank.Lol.BJ

Also when you have it out, take your multimeter and check resistance. Lift the arm manually up and down (slowly) and watch the resistance go up and down (aswell as your gauge). Those things are worthless, I had mine out and cleaned it all up and it still didn't help. The weird thing was when i lifted the arm and checked the gauge it showed properly. But whatever, mazda sending units suck ball sacks.

damn thats awesome! ok so now i know what im doing! ill post pics of the proces of cleaning this thing up a little bit when i do it. shit ill probnably do it tomorow or sunday those are my days off! thanks alot for the help guys!
