my mother in law is going to help me get a welder now there are two im looking at one is 15 and one is 230..both gas ready i dont have 220 plug but my friend is an electrician and can wire me up pretty cheap

these are the two welders

I am leaning towards the 110....its alot cheaper and i think it will do what i need it to do if i get gas for it

i use a 110 with gas, and have had no problems, its a lincoln weld pak. mine works great..

I would go for the bigger welder if your ever planning on doing frame work like welding notches in. I wouldnt trust the 110v for that. But if your only going to be doing sheetmetal with it go for the smaller one.

ive welded in like 7 notches with this welder never had a problem, ever, plenty of heat.

I would grab the 220. might as well spend the extra now

I have done a ton of notches with 110 and never had any problems. I do now have a 220 mig welder and did sell off my other one but for the price I got my 220 for I couldn't pass it up. Just remember that with the 110 you need to make sure you spend alittle more time on the prep work before you weld. I liked my 110 and if I didn't get the price as good as I got on my 220 I would still be using the 110.
