I got bored this weekend and went out and bought myself a model kit because I haven't built one in years and figured it would give me something to do.
So I went out looking around and came across a 1:25 scale '72 Chevy, which is one of my favourite classic trucks.
When I got home and as I was taking the parts out,I thought "how cool would it be to modify it and build it totally different?"
I busted out my side cutters and exacto knife and started cutting. 4 hours later,I had a frame laying, notched and primered '72 Chevy sitting in my kitchen. I shaved the door handles, cut out the tops of the front wheel wells, notched the insides of the front wheel wells so I could drop the cab over the crossmember so the wheels would tuck and gave the wheels a little bit of camber, lol
In the back,I cut out the wheel wells, cut the bed so the rear axle could come through and put it all pack together. These are just some in progress pics, because I'm still far from finished. As you can see,the roof is cut,I'm working on a chop top right now,so I have to reshape the A pillers and the 'glass'.
It's still in the assembly & paint stage, but when it's done,it's just going to be left in primer grey with the steelies and dragged hard! lol
All in all,I have like 7 or 8 hours into this thing so far, lol. Now I just need to make some functioning mini-bags,lol.
