Being the car guy I am,it's hard pressed to find me doing anything else non-automotive related.
I used to be an avid mountian biker, and I still would be if I didn't have to sell my bike. I'd like to pick up another bike, but I know I'd be spending almost $2000 on a bike, and that's some hard cash I could be putting into my truck instead.
I'm also big into hockey as well. I don't follow the NHL as much as I used to,but I love playing hockey whether on the street or on the ice.
I also love indoor Go Kart racing. We have a fantastic track just outside Toronto called Formula Kartways and it's a 1/4 mile street course. The karts are pretty fast and it's such a rush. I used to go quite often, but it got expensive, and I haven't been for a while. Occasionally they hold 300 Lap Endurance races that last about 3 hours, and you can have a crew of 2 to 6 drivers, and the entrance fee is like $200. I've competed in 3 of those, and in our first race,we started dead last (14th) and finished 4th after making a crappy final pitstop while running in 3rd place. I absolutely love the kart racing and is something I would be interested in pursuing a little more if I had the money. It felt great finishing in the top 5 in every kart race we did, because I had crews made up of 18-21 year olds, and we were the youngest racers there. All our competitors were guys in their mid 20s to mid 40s and man, were they ever hostile towards us. I think that's what kept bringing us back each time,to PWN them. The last race I did,we finished in 5th,and our two others were 4th. At times we were in the lead,or running in the top 3. I also had a little more experiences than my friends on my team,so they were kind of what hindered our finishes. I knew the track line better than them, and just overall had more track time. If I was able to do an entire race on my own,I would kick ass.
