Holy crap! Dude, thats pretty scary! No brakes, not even your e-brake? Yikes! I thought the e-brake was a mechanical brake? You better check your rears...

yeah lol scary!

I'm gonna say maybe the wheel cylinders in the rear went out causing you to loose alot of fluid which would make sense to have no pressure. And as the fluid came out of the cylinder it contaminated you're brake shoes which basically just lets them slide on the drums instead of actually stopping. The e-brake is operated off of the rear drums and no matter how hard you pull the brake it's still sliding on the drums.

Well, thats just a guess....

Roger that post.E-brakes are mechanical, not hydraulic so u theoretically can lose all u fluid and still be able to stop.If ur rear brakes are soaked in axle grease from a blown seal or brake fluid from a defective wheel cylinder, shesa no stoppa no matter what u do.Thats why I carry a boat anchor just to be safe.Lol.BJ

LOL! A boat anchor? Is it located on the side of the truck? How'd you rig the switch?

Yea, it definitely sounds like some fluid got on the shoes. Pull your drums and check 'er out.

the cable needed adjusting its just my horrible luck to figure that out when i did. i think i pinched a hole in my seat.

Thats what mine was like when I got it, very little braking at all.

Well, are you all better now or what?

Actaully on the boat anchor, I got Nytrd to give me a spare bag and I rigged a line and switch off my a/c compressor so when my brakes go south I just pump the bag up and it blows the anchor out the a-- of my truck.Gives a whole new meaning to the word "draggin".U should see the sparks a 250 pound boat anchor makes.Lol.BJ
