pro stereo installers read this

i have a '97 mustang and i was wondering what suggestions you guys have for a competiotion type stereo for it. the back seat is not used so i have all that space to use and the trunk.

What kind of competition are you going for? Sound quality? SPL? Do you have any equipment or are you buying all new stuff? Whats your budget?

i think i'm giong spl but i don't want it to sound bad. i am ripping out my interior and while it was out out i am going to put dynomat all over every thing and i thought if i'm going to do all that i might as well lay my wires and build a kick ass stereo. i want something that can be heard for miles but that could also be put in a competition every once in a while. i have no componets yet and i will be buying it peice by peice so cost isn't that big of an issue but i don't want something to exotic and expensive

ok after doing some recon i think maybe i'm asking the wrong question. what i am wanting is a lot of bass, but i want it to sound good if it won't do very well in contests thats fine i just want to drown out everything on the street

if you want to be heard from miles i suggest 2 15's.

kinda depends on what you listen to, if you dig rap than go with 2 12's in a bandpass box or 2 15's in a sealed or vented box. if you like rock i would go with just about any size but in a sealed, ported or vented box. i personally realy like jl audio, i also love mb quart but to go with mb quart you really need to get the expensive nice mb quarts or else you may as well buy something else. it all really depends on how deep your pockets are.

KICKER OR ECLIPSE! Get the kicker 18" and you'll be just fiiiine! I think it would be the best BANG for your buck!
