everyone is going to tell you their favorite brand, then the store is going to tell you what is their favorite. kind of like a big circle.

all i can say is 2 kicker solobarics ( square ones) with a 1000W monoblocks on each will make you puke in the back seat of a blazer and 4 of em wil punck the back glass right out of the truck....i think that qualifies as hittin hard

If you are going for some SPL I would recommend the DD 9515 or some 15" RE XXX. They will run you between $400 and $900 a piece. Put about 3000 wrms to each sub and you should be good. lol...

If you never use the back seat then lose it and build a wall for 2 15s. Build a ported box and port it right out the front of the wall.

i looked for prices of some 15's but i cant find any on the manufacturers websites so i guess i will have to drive tomorrow and find a shop.

just keep in mind, the larger the speaker, the more distortion you get....

i've seen 3 jl audio 12 in a transam that would shake the false teeth out of an old person sitting on the porch as you drove by, also, i had a buddy that had 2 15" orions in an s-10 & i saw those blow the windshield out of it.....

For best Boom for you buck look at the Kicker L7's... they are loud as snot... as for sound quality... meh. They need lots of power though.

I personally am an MTX man for subs... Mtx used to be a shitty company, but they are pretty big time now, they're shit is real solid... I'm planning on running 2 9500 15's in a blowthrough.

For competition: a single 15... like an old school juggernaut in a bigass box will hammer! I work at A&B sound. I'm an installer. My manager had a 16 cu ft. box in a 93 cavalier with one juggernaut 15 and about 4 thousand watts... he competed with that.

For loud lows (nicer sounding bass) you need to tune a ported box really low (like 28-35 Hz) ... for SPL you wanna tune it around 60 Hz.. (which also sounds like shit... [actually its loud for some techno shit.]) Don't build a bandpass box, they are loud but they sound like shit, and they eat woofers.
Sealed is more "accurate" sounding... but wont give you the boom i think you are looking for.

10's for punchy bass... 15's for hip hop stuff.

Instead of having lots of woofers, and starve them for air space, have fewer woofers and give them lots of air.

Just my advice

I totally agree, especially about having lots of woofers starving for power and air space.

Hell ya - I had 3 12w6's in my regular cab - and was only running 600 watts to the 3 and it would shake your eyeballs and knock the wind out of ya. haha I'm too fat now to run that box behind the seat anymore tho !!!

The more airspace you have for a woofer, the more you give it the opportunity to extend its bass wavelength! Experiencing it inside the cab, not outside a block away!
