i will second the minitrucks are better!
yes times & fads of automotive customizing change, some people like this, some like that.....then again, there are certain things in automotive customizaton that are pillars if you will, building a clean ride that is delivered as a total package. not a bucket w/ a set of wheels & paint job (smoke & mirrors), covering up what's actually there.
heck, i've dropped a shizzle load of $$ into a truck that kelley blue book value in "mint' condition won't bring $4k....that doesn't even count what i paid for it originally when i bought it as my first ride & all the burgers i flipped to pay for it. i even remember back in the day this yellow mazda that got a spread in minitrucking, the guy bought the truck for $200, and finished it for under $3k!
whoever built the regal for a lack of better terms did it for
"looks, attention & bragging rights" & most people do customize their ride "genre" of choice for that reason, be it faster, cooler, lower, or w/e it is that makes it custom, but when that is the only theme & motivation behind the particular ride, it just falls into the run-o-the-mill catagory. there are
two or three cars in town that are jacked up like this w/ 26's, a metallic flake paint job, and have nascar #'s on the side
heck anyone can buy a set of vogues, slap a paint job on a hoopdie, put a little bump in the trunk & call it pimpin.
there is a difference in building a ride & it sticking out like a sore thumb, and building a ride that brings out more emotion than just wanting to be bigger that the next guy, with that, taste & practicality are a matter of opinion just as customizing a vehicle is.
as my homie too short would say, "get in where you fit in", i'm just not diggin the regal turned expeimental moon rover with a classic arcade icon on the side, & i'm sure the owner of that regal would say the same about my truck
