HI! Been 2 weeks since I've been on here! I'm sure alot has happened! Its been one heck of a time now with this new job! I'm up here in Spokane right now. I've got a 4 day weekend because of memorial day, and last week spending 3 days down in Pullman for my time off SUCKED! It was very boring! I decided I might as well drive 1 1/2 instead to come home every weekend...
BOY! Let me tell ya... I've been put through some tests along the way! Everything was great. Once I pulled into Pullman, though, it wen't downhill! Right when I get in, my dad noticed my temp. guage was rising! I think I got 3/4 the way to the H line! I pulled over, checked the engine and coolant was spraying out of this line from the intake to this hard line! I was freaking out! All in all though, it was just that hose! It was totally fried, and the whole drive it was leaking coolant the whole time!
Then on my 3rd day of work, I was using a Makita grinder with a masonry wheel and got some brick in my EYE! I was wearing freaking glasses too! I ended up opting to go to the doctor because I won't screw around when it comes to my vision! The whole day was a waste of sitting in the waiting room! I still got paid! But I then had to pee in a cup again, and I also had to fill out so mouch paperwork! ugh...
And of course everyday, my foreman gives me alot crap for everything I do... Can't take a step without him telling him how to do it right! Of course, I was expecting this anyways... I think its the whole idea of me being new to the construction thing... The rest of my crew is pretty awesome. There 5 of them, plus the foreman. All of them are over 30. I'm the youngin'!
I still dunno whether or not this is something I want to keep doing for the rest of my life, but its interesting stuff to learn nonetheless, besides making better money and all... LOL, and I still dunno what Glazing means!
Anyways, check this pic out!
This was taken on Thursday before we left. I've learned how to prep, install the upper and lower aluminum sheeting which is called flash and upper comp. Then all the mullians, which make up the frame for the windows. Then all the taping of the sealants and caulking, etc... On Thursday, we put in all the windows you see! That is no joke! Those things are soo freaking heavy! They are an inch thick, 6x8 ft. panes of glass and weigh 200 pounds! You may not think they're heavy, but you start to gain the respect of it after doing 20 of them!
Well, its nice to just post up on here again and let you all know how I'm doing and whats going on, I'll be in Spokane 'till Monday so I'll be back on here a few more times!
I've been slowly doing a little here and there stuff on my dash to someday get it painted! We will see how it goes though!
