Good job mikey! You've learned a nice and important lesson through life... Revenge is not gonna get you anywhere! Lol...

I suppose if you like your new job and what it is, more power to you! Means you know how to use a tape measurer! Not alot of people know...

BTW, the steel framing is interesting stuff nonetheless. We've got galvanized framing on our const. site. The two things I hate about the stuff though, is that if you touch the edges you WILL get cut! Bastards dunno what the meaning of a file is! And their stone blade chop saw they use is FRIGGIN' LOUD! lol...

You doing any welding?

Stay in that job man! You will make really good money if you stay! Especially if you were union...

$350 was a small price to pay for getting some bittersweet revenge. In the 4 months I was there I made just over $6000,so a couple hundred bucks isn't that bad of a kick to the teef.

Hex,I know what you mean about getting cut,the edges are really sharp,so we wear rubber gloves whenever we're handing the materials, and we can't wear shorts on the production floor.

I like your story.

I also took sweet revenge when I left my job as a translator at Great-West Life.

I worked for this guy who had no management skills at all and normally that didn't matter since he was only in contact with me through a couple layers of middle management.

As luck would have it GWL did some downsizing and the middle management was "let go" and I was reporting directly to this a**hole. His management style was so bad the entire Montreal office tried to have him fired, to no avail.

An example of his harassment is that he used to patrol our desks after hours and bitch to us the next morning about finding "inappropriate" things there such as personal items, business cards from other companies, etc. He once gave me a lenghty speech about not using "corporate time and resources" for personal gain. Well, he used to belong to a yacht club and I caught him once reviewing the rules of an upcoming regatta on company time and using the company fax to send the document (30-odd pages if I recall) back, long distance. I made sure to make note of that.

Anyhow, I finally lined up a better job and gave my former boss a scathing exit interview. I also made sure my last day co-incided with the annual Christmas tea where I knew I would be able to meet the CEO.

I attended the Christmas tea, found the CEO and introduced myself and said it was my last day on the job. I calmly and succintly described why I had decided to leave. Low and behold I found out 6 months later my former boss was "let go" after a lenghty review of his performance.

The Klingons have it right when they say "Revenge is a dish best served cold".

Funny thing is GWL called me back twice to offer me a job in the translation department. I guess I hadn't burnt my bridges after all. I politely declined but was flattered they had thought of me.

Cheers !!

haha nice. When I had my exit interview I was bitingmy tongue the whole time, because I really didn't want to be honest with what I really had on my mind.

I think my screwing up the machine also took everybody by surprise as well, lol.
