Yes, I realize it but since my truck is really rusty and would be hard to make it looks nice I figure it would make a better offroad rig. Also, a lowered truck doesn't make sense because every winter we get about 3 inches of snow a week.

No body makes anything for the Mazda in the way of pre-runner parts. Trust me I have been looking for a couple of years. You can crank your torsion bars - get aftermarket torsion bars - body lift - ball joint spacer, but non of that will really help in increasing suspension travel. Everyone says stuff a straight axle in - or put in a body lift. That isn't pre-runner.
If you just want to run bigger tires then ya you can do this stuff but you will not gain any functional travel out of your suspension.

It would be pretty cool to see a prerunner mazda with a full long travel suspension and such. I think there are flared fiberglass fenders available but thats pretty much it.

They used to be available - but havn't seen any for a year or so now !!
Kickinwing take a look thru this thread.

If a few people where interested in a set of lift arms, maybe 3 at a minimum, I would build a couple sets. Get parts laser cut, TIG welded, you know a nice part. It wouldn't really be a prerunner type arm exactly. But if someone wanted prerunner arms and spindles, that actually pushed your wheels out and got more travel I would do that too. But I wouldn't make those at only 3 people interested.

Twisted would the arms add more travel for sure, also what would be done in back to add more travel. Because getting travel in front doesn't help IMO if you don't get it in the back. But if we can figure this out, I would be totally down for it.

If I make upper and lower arms, I can design them to lift the truck, (maybe about 4 inches?), and I can extend the track width. Which will give you more travel, but ti would make the springs feel a little bit softer because of extra leverage. If they where meant to work with stock torsions.

In the back, you could either do an axle flip, or run a longer shackle. You can't get too crazy with the shackle though because it will begin to throw off your pinion. But a longer stiffer shackle, and an axle flip would get a decent amount of lift and would increase your useable travel by a lot.

Good luck with it man. I agree dont do a major body lift or anything like that just a slight suspension lift but spend the money on the RIGHT suspension parts so that it will sit slightly above stock height but actually have about twice the travel so when you launch you will still land nice and soft. Check out some buggy sites or what not. I thought about doing this to my 2001 b3000 Dual Sport. It is a 4wd platform but still only 2wd. Keep us posted for sure.

Camburg makes some nice kits for the Rangers.
