climbing the corporate ladder

Well...

as some of you may remember,a couple months ago I landed a great new job building pre-fab light gauge steel wall/floor/roof panels for townhouses and stuff.

Tomorrow,we begin an afternoon shift,which I volunteered to go to on a permanent basis,and after only 2 and a half months with this new company,I have already been promoted to a lead hand supervisor for this shift. It feels really weird,only being 21 and the 2nd youngest guy in the plant,yet having the 3rd highest authority on the plant floor behind the shift coordinator and the plant manager.

I think it's pretty cool that I was just kind of handed this job,even though I did really earn it with my hard work,positive attitude and good work ethic.

I always thought I could do a job like that,and handle the responsiblity and stuff,but I was never given the chance,and especially being so young. But now I have the chance,and I can prove myself,and I hope I can do a damn good job. I start with the new position tomorrow and can't wait.

Today my coordinator was like "it was a pleasure working with you,and you remember that as of tomorrow,YOU are in charge,and you don't take shit from ANYBODY. You tell them how it's done and what to do and NOBODY mouths off to you."

I was like 'sweeeeeeet' and then walked away with a huge grin.

lol,the job also found me through workopolis,completely by accident. I didn't know I had my resume searchable after I applied for a ojb on there.

congrats mikey but good work ethics please we all know how you got the job you brought in miss piggy and had her help you out. LOL HAHAHAHA. But serious congrats on the new postion and now that you are making more monies lets get one of those trucks on air.

congrats mikey. it feels damn good to be young and finally catch a break doesnt it? the best part is knowing that all those old guys that are coming into work are coming in wondering how the hell they work all these years just to work for that (stereotype) punk ass kid that drives a lowrider.

oh ya i mikey i hate you and your steel contruction metods it make my life a livin hell wen i show up to hang some cabinets and i find your "newfangled" contruction methods..hah no really i hade steel studs, real houses are made of wood and brick not siding, styrofoam and steel....no offence

And Lance...no,I didn't bring in Miss Piggy...she's knocked up and engaged to some douchebag,and it's not my problem...hahaha......and the Mazda is definetly getting aired. I haven't heard back from the guy that wanted to buy it,so I take it my high price tag put him off. heh heh heh.
