Well...
as some of you may remember,a couple months ago I landed a great new job building pre-fab light gauge steel wall/floor/roof panels for townhouses and stuff.
Tomorrow,we begin an afternoon shift, which I volunteered to go to on a permanent basis, and after only 2 and a half months with this new company,I have already been promoted to a lead hand supervisor for this shift. It feels really weird, only being 21 and the 2nd youngest guy in the plant, yet having the 3rd highest authority on the plant floor behind the shift coordinator and the plant manager.
I think it's pretty cool that I was just kind of handed this job, even though I did really earn it with my hard work, positive attitude and good work ethic.
I always thought I could do a job like that, and handle the responsiblity and stuff, but I was never given the chance, and especially being so young. But now I have the chance, and I can prove myself, and I hope I can do a damn good job. I start with the new position tomorrow and can't wait.
Today my coordinator was like "it was a pleasure working with you,and you remember that as of tomorrow,YOU are in charge, and you don't take shit from ANYBODY. You tell them how it's done and what to do and NOBODY mouths off to you."
I was like 'sweeeeeeet' and then walked away with a huge grin.
