If you talk to someone that's into lowriding, lowriders have 13 or 14 inch wires (or Supremes) and white walls. My first love was mini trucks back then on 15s and 16s, but when it came time for me to start a project I ended up building a lowrider (1983 Malibu wagon on 13s and white walls). I see it this way, if a mini truck has 13s and white walls then it's a lowrider. Body dropped on big wheels its mini style. The whole mini trucking thing didn't start because of lowriders, but it wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for them, referring to what LAYEDOUTB2K said.

probly a town car or deville j/k

DAVE SELL ME THAT WAGON!!!

i dont think it really matters if we're called lowriders or mini's. i mean i can see the whole 'itty bitty pokey outties' compared to the bodied B on 20's. JUST DONT CALL ME A RICER!!

i get crap alot cuz i drive caprices. "Thats a n***** car!" uhh... no it ain't. do you hear a big loud stereo or see giant rims?

okay im gonna add my 2 cents in here to my understanding lowriders first started to impress the ladies while cruzin the streets in other words show off so to me (and yes ive had both ) the two are one and the same because its all a show off thing i love the world of minitrucks and lowriders but if you think about it we are all one and the same ...we all just wanna ride and look good while we do it so ................ lowriders , minitrucks , ect. are pretty much the same no matter how you look at it

heres my .02 on the subject ive had both. if you were to go to a lowrider mag event most of the cars there are gonna have candy paint with alot of flake, crush velvet interior, hydros, and 13s or 14s and white walls. now if you go to a minitruck show most of the rides there are gonna be on 17s or bigger, either a solid color or a crazy ass graphic job, tweed or leather interior, and could either have bags or hydros thats just a personal preference. but a true lowrider is your 60s impalas, early to mid 80s caddys both with 13s and white walls and hydros. plus most of your lowriders have ghost patterns in their paint to where the main ghost design you see on a minitruck is ghost flames. but yes you mostly see hispanics driving the traditional lowriders and whites in mini trucks. when i got into this sport i didnt know the difference between the 2 i thought everything that sit close to the ground was a lowrider. but yes minitrucks originated from lowriders if you were to go back and look at some of the old lowrider mags and some of the very first minitruckin mags you will see alot of the same styles, the 14s that stick out past the fenders, hydros and even some had the velvet interior.so in some way shape or form we are all lowriders just with different styles of building our vehicles.i mean if it wasnt for a lowrider using the hydros i think off of a farm tractor if i remember right back in the 60s to raise his car to get over a small curb at a local show would we have adjustable suspensions now or would we all still be running around static dropped and hanging up on everything. you hardly ever heard this arguement until just a few years ago when some of the younger guys got into that really dont know how this sport got started in the first place they just picked up a mini truck, or sport truck mag and decided they wanted to be like the guys in them with bagged trucks. to some people minitruckin is more than just a style of building your truck to some like me that have been into it 13-14 years its a lifestyle now. i mean until i got the tahoe i have now i have never owned a completely stock vehicle well its not completely stock it does have a few things done but anyway. so whether you call yourself a lowrider, minitrucker, tuner or whatever just remember that in some way shape or form it all come from the lowriders of the 60s and 70s. and as 87mazdaslammed1 said we all wanna ride and look good while we do it. sorry for the book guys but this arguement gets to me almost as much as the built vs bought one

good point there. i think the hydro thing originated on a show corvette some guy built. he used the landing gear hydros off a plane for it. thats just what i heard. either way could be right.

Ah ha I think I finally found the post that started it all....
Anyways. I partially get defensive when people call my truck a lowrider...however lately it is just easier. Unfortunetly my truck will never be as classy and as awsome as the majority of "lowriders" that I have seen. I look at my self as a minitrucker (after employee, father, and husband) but I would love to have a 62 impalla 2 door convertible black with white leather and a chromed out 350 with bad ass 13" or 14" wires. So I do have to agree with Immortal and CL "custom car/truck enthusiast"

All honestly maybe this entire thread should be deleted.... or those who have posted the offensive items man up and edit there post. To each their own.

And finally... Immmortal how long ago was your truck in Lowrider? I thought I have seen it somewhere else. And I am still jealous of your daughter over her truck.

now dont get me wrong jmz my family comes before anything and i didnt even read the post where cl and immortal said custom car/truck enthusiast i guess thats what i can be considered cause im into anything from fully restored classics to fully built drag cars.

Sounds good to me.

Into drag cars and draggin? Nice ever combine the two? That could be fun instead of a parachute you just lay the thing out and spark your way to a stop.

i dont think i would want to lay out a drag car sounds kinda dangerous if its actually a fast car

I just read this post and I smiled from ear to ear "Just could'nt help but picture someone actually doing that and how badass it would look and be." < I felt like this guy.
