the fiberglass didn't seal against the dash so i stipped it all off and i'm just gonna sand down the stock dash, and fiberglass only 2 or 3 pieces...

Hows the dash coming? any picture updates?

like said, the fiberglass didn't seal to the dash so i just sanded it down with some 240 or somthin, i don't remember. but i been workin on it a bit.

did you forget to sand down the dash before you glassed it?

yeah it was because of negligence(sp?)...

I did manage to weld my tailgate up. i know people are gonna talk spit because i didn't use a skin but i didn't wanna lose my tail strength and mazda letters. so i brace it a bit, spaced it out, and tacked it up using bolts in the gaps. monday or tuesday i will be puttin 1/4" rod between the gate and taillights so there won't be any gap at all. as far as it crackin under pressure, i put a layer of fiberglass down and then bondo'd over that. that way its waterproof and has more structure to it. I'll get finished pics up tomorrow.





and my pass. side door that i broke the lock on and didn't wanna use a handle on that side...

you need to cap your corners get a piece of 1x1 or so and put 45 degree andles on them and use that as a brace.

and are you saying you used fiberglass on your tailgate?

the welds on the edges of my tailgate... where the gate meets the bed. after i did the welding, i laid a thin coat of fiberglass, sanded that then put a coat of bondo, sanded that and nwo it will be more waterproof

thats a lot more work than needed, all you gotta do it weld, thin coat of bondo and primer/sealer, but the way you did it its not going anywhere lol, either way man sweetness, i always wondered why people didnt just weld their tailgates shut, save em a lotta money lol.
