Project: OUT CAST (Update - 8/22/07)

so are you doin bags? how long do you think till its goin, im actualy out of beaverton oregon, im only in wyoming for school, and will be back there in 3 months. if you need any help or want any help with the bag work let me know, bend isnt to far from me

yeah the tires are too big, plus the wheels are too wide. so i think i'm just gonna drop it like the guy with the white b did... just go without bumpstops, 3" blocks mono-leafed, and cranked torsions, at least for a while. right now the problem with it is that the previous owner overheated it, and he thinks it warped the head. i never seen it run so i'm goin off of here say. so i'm gettin the head set with all teh gaskets and seals, and should have it runnin by mid november. after that, it'll only take a while to bag it... and 84... i love your truck, i'd be happy to have you help me.. i'm gettin a lot of help from custom creations truck club right now. right now i'm just in financial need... but isn't every mini trucker?

think the chrome trim looks better painted or stripped? and anyone know an easier way to strip it besides going out with a razor blade... its takin me at least 8 hours so far on the trim on the drivers side.. and i'm still not done with that one side! any help is appreciated..

try aircraft stripper on a paint brush only after you taped off the area and then wipe it off. if it's real chrome it should work perfect, if it's not then it would be a 50/50 chance. it was me i'd try a tiny area in a lower or upper corner and see what happens. if it works then it should only take you about 1 hr to do the whole truck. if not....well it'll be up to you on if it's worth it. just an idea why don't you buy ne chrome trim? it should only cost about $50 for the whole truck right?

i don't know where to get the trim... i'm lookin around...

no, i'm talkin about the chrome trim that goes around the extended cab windows... i'm needin to clean it up ... they painted over it!!!

i think that it is just chrome plated, might want to try goofoff, probably a not as strong as the stripper....you can do a drill down search on here is a link to the door trim on their site...



it is $67 a piece...i know i called & priced the windshield trim....$220 for chrome...not cheap buy no means...if you can find some @ a junkyard in decent shape that would be the way to go, but good luck, most at a yard is in worse shape than what i already have...

The replacement chrome aint cheap.I put new drip rail moldings on my 2200-$37 per side from the bank robbers at the local dealership.As posted above windshield molding is 200 plus. Thank goodness mine is in ok shape. BJ
