to be totally honest with you, if the passenger side leaf is cracked/broken, i wouldn't mess with it till you swap out the leafsprings,
yes, you could temporarily fix the pinion angle, loosen the u-bolts, and put some pinion shims inbetween the axle & the leafspring, but this wouldn't last as the leafsprings are already bent, and the extra added height of the shims increases the amount of force the axle applies to the spring when under acceleration, the extra force from this on the mono'd spring, would probably cause it to go on and break all the way.

you said you have a frame from another truck, does it still have the leafspring packs? if so, you could just rob the leafspring packs off of it,
and make you two good ones to put on this truck......you don't want to run totally mono leaf'd in the rear, use the long spring with the bushing eyes on it, take the next longest spring, and the short overload spring, and use that as a spring pack, it might not sit as low, but you will at least be safe going down the road

oh, don't hesitate to ask any q's, i was just pointing out in my earlier post that you had a potential problem going there & was trying to save you a little grief in the long run.....and a little razzing about the 2fast2furious muffler too lol haha! i bet it is pretty loud under the bed like that?

um i totally understand your anwser but the frame the truck is sitting on now is badly rotted so im going to switch all the parts to the better one i ll post the pics of the rotted parts and the better frame if youd like to see that oh and yes the muffler is loud but only when really moving fast lol having said all that can i use the better part of the bad frame to make Cnotches in the better frame or just go with new metal or steel

i don't see why not, as long as you cut it from the thick part of the frame, not the tail, cause that part of the frame is smaller.....
