Donor truck

Deconstruction continues!!

The red donor truck has now been reduced to no more than a cab (no doors) and a frame. We've salvaged the following: front fenders, grill, all lights, front bumper, carb, distributor, fuel pump, alternator, starter and various tubing from the engine.

I cut the 8 bolts holding the custom rack on the bed and we pushed that off to the side. I'll need to call on my brothers and some friends to get that thing back on, what a biatch to move.

We started pulling the bed of the blue truck and the floor is awful rotten. Good thing we are taking it off. The previous owner used old traffic signs, carpet and plywood to patch the floor. LOL

I'll take some good pics tonite and post them.

P.S. Anyone know of an easy way to pull of the wiper arms? I got the bolts off but the wiper arm isn't moving. I think these arms are sitting on splines and they are hard to remove. Maybe use a gear puller. Any suggestions?

Yup, you got it man. Get a small puller that'll fit nice in there and start turning. It's on a spline .

What are you guys going to do with the tach cluster as my son wants one for his truck.

Since the blue truck (the one with the tach) is going back on the road, and knowing how difficult it is to find a B2000 with a tach cluster, we will be keeping everything in the cab intact.

Update:

Last night we cut the remainder of the bed off the truck. My friend Lou showed up with a 5-inch grinder and some zip wheels... He did short work of the bed!

I'm not sure what the previous owner was thinking but the wiring for the rear lights is a MESS...

I cut everything off and will be splicing in the wiring from my donor truck. I did that wiring myself and it's much cleaner.

I meant to take pics last nite but it was raining. Forecast for 2day is sunny so new pics will be up later.
