they make a flip kit for handle relocation, and yeah, on the tailgate theres gonna be a lot of vibration from driving there, I would tack it all the way around, it could take years to have filler fail but its just not worth the risk, I think, and I hate filler.

thats bad advise ????

guess by saying that your saying baggedb22 dont know what hes doin.... from the look of it i would say hes got a pretty good idea.... and when i tacked the filler plate on my buddies car i went about every 1/2 and tacked it again

yeah its bad advise. you should weld it solid and metal finish it. not just tack it and call it a day. that's half ass. and like madmazdaman and dragginmazda86 mentioned... as well as my wife... the filler can get moisture behind it and crack out. why half ass it? its not that much more work to put down a few more tacks and make sure it's solid.

speedster93b is 100% correct and you should never do it any other way. I had to learn the hard way with a $10 000 paint/shave job, 5 years in court, another $8500 to fix the problem, heartburn, a shit load of tums, and a really long f'in story.

Weld it solid, simple. It may take more time but unless you want to learn the hard way like me, its well worth it.

Looks good by the way Deviousb.

thanks for all the comments. Like I said I have never done it before and I know that some people say you dont have to weld it up solid some say its good too. I did it this way because I wanted too. I tried to keep warpage to a minimum, I kept a spray bottle full of water to cool it down from time to time. watching tv does pay off sometimes....lol

im not saying welding it all the way around is wrong i was just saying you dont have to..... and if you arent 100 % positive on what your doing you prolly will warp the panel.... and instead of ruining a hole panel by weling it solid you can tack it REALLY well as in at least every 1/2 inch.....and yes i know its not the "RIGHT" way to do it.... my doors on my truck that i DIDNT do.... the passanger side is starting to crack out........ that would be a door i payed good money to have done... so yeah i agree in doing it the right way instead of half assed..... but not everyone has the tools to do it the RIGHT way....... flux core welder im guess him like me dont have all the tools to do it the right way....

i just recently got a welder thats why i paid someone else to do it before..... and im not really building a show truck im just building it so its different then what everyone that drives a b series...... yeah im sure it will be in a show sometime but im not building it to be a trailer queen... and i have plently of time to fix what went wrong.... i know once i save up the money ill have all the tools i need to do it right and ill fix it the right way

nobodys gonna do it for you. instead of buying your next part invest in a welder and some metal tools. tools are like toys but they go further and make back money.

ohhh... don't say that. that almost breaks my heart. doing stuff a 2nd time or a 3rd time, or a 4th time for some stuff is a ball breaker. try to do the best you can the first time. i'm kicking my own ass, because i know that i have a LOT of stuff to redo on my truck. it's a downer every time i think about it.
it's true you learn from your mistakes, but it still sucks.

yeah i painted the truck black twice and removed it twice my truck now sits stock red again. i have to fix the handles that cracked out now that i have a job and a welder i have some extra money to buy the stuff i need and now i may actually fix it right just have to work on the motivation to do it i know once i order all the air ride sh!t and have that on ill be bitching and working every spare second ive got to get the truck decent looking for carlisle all truck nationals... im not planning on winning but i at least want it to be there and looking good
