Oh man you guys should see some of the trucks here people scrap with. I saw one guy pull a 16000 lb bus into the scrapyard with a old ass chevy truck. The troopers decided to set up a roadblock before the scrapyard one day and gave out 47 tickets for all the vehicles that were illegal as hell.

Shoot at my job site when I was doing the construction thing, our general contractor told us to get rid of our scrap stainless steel and I got like $120 for 160lbs! I barely even had my truck 1/3 full of it too!

Our project manager screwed up an $13k order of stainless steel, and I wish I had grabebd more! Otherwise, it was just going to go right into the dumpster!

You guys would be freeeaaaking amazed at what they throw away on a construction site!

My boss had a canopy on his early 80's yota and was completely FULL of aluminum from our job. Jackass did'nt even share any of it with us!

Haha, funny you mention all this too cause my bro wants me to help him do this kind of thing!

people around here are putting cages around their a/c units because people are stealing the whole unit to get the copper.

when it comes to copper does it have to be raw? we have a bin of wire we collect after all of our installs (stereo shop) but it has insulation on it. can we just take that or do we have to strip it somehow?
devb22   +1y

You can take it in with the insulation on it, but you will get far less than if it was already taken off...

They will charge you to prepare the scrap, but if its already prepared they shouldn't charge you!

thats fine with the charging.....its ALOT if wire and i dont want to strip all of it.
