I did the same thing. If you go buy some fine steel wool, It will smooth the flat black out and make it look great.

Getting Started on my rear suspension. Brought the frame down from the table so I can set the engine and pinion angle at ride height.

Got a good start on my lower link bars. Lowering the motor is next.

No pics, forgot to take the camera with me today! But started at about 8:30 this morning and didn't quit till about 6:30 this afternoon.

1) Got new clutch kit installed
2) Got the rear frame and engine bay cleaned and painted. Not perfect but much better. Also got the tranny cleaned up and primed ready for a little paint.
3) Got the 4" blocks installed
4) Tore out all the old exhaust

Did this while taking a LOT of breaks, mainly because it was around 100 degrees in the shop. I came home and my wife didn't even recognize me when I walked in the door at home.

Engine mocked up so I can see what the clearance will be like. I need to lower the motor 2.5" to run a stock hood.

It's tighter than it looks but I should be able to lower it enough and still have clearance for the rack and pinion.
