I actually don't really remember how I came into liking minitrucks, or modded trucks in general. I was always into import and euro cars, and never really had any use for a truck.

I think my step dad owning a 92 B2200 when it was new and having it right up til 98 kinda got me interested in Mazdas, because I really liked that truck. He ended up giving it to my grandpa and since I got my licence I always bugged him to sell me the truck and he never would.

Finally, a coworker of mine had a B2200 for sale and I was looking for another vehicle at the time when my Contour was crapping out on me. The price was right and the truck was in good shape with low miles, so I bought it.

After needing the engine rebuilt after a couple months, I figured I'm this far into fixing it, may as well go all the way, and that's how I ended up with Kermit lol.

I still have the very first truckin' book I ever bought. I guess you could say mini's and I came about the same time. I was into cars growing up but didn't pay attention to lowered trucks until high school. That was just before they became main stream. I was there to see all the break throughs in mods as they came to be. I remember when body dropping was the newest thing. Out west they were doing huge step notches on toyotas and such. But everyone shunned the Rangers because of the I beam suspension. There were several groups around Georgia that started building some of the sickest trucks in the country. I had a '92 Ranger with a Rancho 3/4 drop with a snug top. Latter I ditched the snug and tandemed the truck. I also remember when the only adjustable suspension was hydraulics. I have been addicted to trucks and cars all my life. And I hope i'm never cured.

it was 1989 and I was 16 and wanting something to drive. I really wanted a bug and wanted to lower it with a huge whale tail. somehow my dad convinced me to get a truck and lower it since there basically weren't any of them around at the time in south FL. maybe a few in Ft. Lauderdale, but that was 1/2 hour from me and I never went there at the time. my dad helped me get a used 1985 nissan 720. I got some chrome toyota wheels for it, lowered it and have had mostly lowered trucks ever since. had 2 trucks that were lifted, but never drove anything stock. joined Local Minis in 1992. they broke up around 2003, but the people I hang out with today are people I met through the club.

It's all Jrocks fault, he had a lowered fullsize Chevy when we fist met and then later on got another B. He then started work on bagging it etc. I bought my first Mazda an 87 standard cab and was going to lower it but I sold it to my employee and found an already lowered 89 Cabplus that needed some tlc and now I am hooked. I do use my truck to haul little thing like when we are working on the house and I cannot wait to see peoples faces when I am towing my alum fishing boat.

when i was 15 my grandma had told me i was gonna get a crx for my first car, then a 86 b2000 ended up at my house, she told me that it was gonna be my first vehicle now. i got mad and told her no, but then got to working on it, reading minitruckin magazine, and just fell in love! then there was an almost show worthy one around town, it was def the nicest one around at the time, i would drive buy it and just stare all the tiem, then one day a for sale sign popped up. i saved money as fast as i could, and sold my first one (running with 281k miles on it) for like 1200, and bought my second one. its in minitruckin heaven now lol, have gone through 2 more with there own stories, and now have my 5th one, resorted back to them after to many problems with import cars

Well lets see I got hooked back in the day 1985-86 my brother's where big into stereo and cruising up and down the strip called Slappey Blvd(Albany,GA). I would occasionally see a slammed mini truck or car here and there and just loved the look of them. Then when I was old enough I got my first car that was a Datsun 210 and I cut the springs on that beast...boy did it ride like shit but I loved the look of the lowered stance. Then I sold that cause I wanted a truck but that fell through and I got a 82 Nissan 200sx and I put some reverse deep dish hammers with 195-50 15's on it(15's where BIG back then...LOL). I got tried of that cause I really wanted a truck. So had my did co-sign with me and I got my first Mazda in 1992. It was a B2600i and the day I drove it home I stopped and bought some 4 inch lowering blocks and have never looked back since then. Funny thing is my Dad tried his hardest to get me to buy a S-10. I told him there's just something about a S-10 that I don't like.

I have seen a lot of things change in the scene/lifestyle/culture/hobby. I remember back when air shocks where the hot new shit, dip paint, flex stone painted dash, pathfinder wheels...LOL, hammers...lol, loudest stereo was 135db, bent antenna's, mini-truckin mag was every other month...LOL, body drops where crazy and lots more but I can't remember them right now....LOL cause I'm getting old....HAHA!!
