a good thing to do if you want to do the biger mods is have something to drive at the same time the truck is down..that way you dont rush to get it done and end up screwing things up and then your pissed and sell the truck..... guilty..

IMO taking the frame out, then getting really crazy with it is almost for a professional shop.

That is what I seem to have seen the most while reading these project threads. People spend tons of time and $$$ on the frame, then are mostly used up by the time it comes to finish the rest of the truck, and understandably so.

Some do finish, and certainly hats off to them. But, in cases like that it also helps to have a huge building where you can get to everything, as well as the ability to work on the project year round, and some specialty tools that most of us accumulate during a lifetime.

I have been working hard on project "Stranger" for just about a year now, and am very close to finishing. Its the little things that are getting in the way. For example I just found out that I need a $100 kit for my Xenon lights. Also to finish painting the bed I need to get Eleanor out of the paint booth, which was damaged by the tornado a few weeks ago.

Also like mikey said i think being able to drive it and work on it at the same time is such a huge help with inspiration. You see something thats already sweet and you love and you can do this to make it even more sweeter.

I have noticed the same thing actually. I get to reading something, and before I know it, it's the end of the thread. Then notice it was last replied to in 2009....lol
