4.3 question guys

Just remember the trans, I wouldn't put a 4.3 in front of a stock Mazda trans. Camaro 5 speed, S-10 5 speed, or fullsize truck 5 speed. The Camaro trans will drive more like a sports car with closer ratio gears, S-10 trans is a decent middle ground, and fullsize trans is geared wide and gonna shift like a truck. Plus, if I remember correctly, the Camaro trans has the bracket for the torque arm so you can run a torque arm rear suspension setup if you desire.

4.3 have a range of different blocks and intakes on them from factory. If your wanting to go Carb'd I'd say stay with the earlier years since there will be less stuff on them. Early 90's 4.3 would work best for you I believe.

You can use ANY year 4.3. After 91 they incorporated a balance shaft on the cam and they introduced the Vortec heads in 92. Somewhere along the road the valve covers changed. For me, I'm trying to find an early carbed Astro van motor. They had bigger cams from the factory to make more torque and came with 4bbl carbs.

i would do it but i would like carbed lol. i dont wana deal with all the wiring lol

hey i got a 2.6 if u need parts ... i was gonna swap my truck to one but was missing to much stuff like a fuel tank and tranny....its a fi and the head is off but i seen a video of it running ... the po said he took the head off replacing the timing belt then motor swapped his b....its all there just in boxes and on a pallet

and a 4.3 is a 350 with two cylinders shaved off...pre 91 are carbed and if i believe pre 91 is throttle body injected... i know where theres a carbed one with a popped head gasket...

how much mate for the 4.3?
