so every b2600i i've seen has SE-5 or something like that on the side. then i found a seller on craigslist and wanted to buy his door panels and even those are a little different. they are half vinyl half cloth and have a pocket at the bottom. mine are all vinyl no pocket and we both have cab plus 91's. also, i've seen many with chrome taillight trim and other little things, all of which i don't have. what gives? do i have a base model or something?

mine is a 91 cab plus 2600i auto.

thanks

Yes, there were several different trim levels each year, the door panel you speak of came off of a LX trim level truck......they had the chrome door handles, and chrome tail light trims and the extra sound deadening inside the cab, so on and so forth.
You can install those on your truck though......I just put the chrome grille and tail light trims and door handles on my regular cab 1989 truck. Here's some pic's of it.

No problem man, I love the B2600i truck with the auto trans....it's a cruiser.....if I go out of town on a trip and it is just me or one other person, I take that truck......I can pass some people on the interstate with it!

When they put the computer in the truck/car they went too far. technology to build it, not run it. Toyotas with a electronic controlled throttle. Yea if anybody remembers a few years back they had a bunch of them sticking, or one happen to stick and a bunch of greedy people crashed they're cars saying that the throttle stuck. Either way, you don't want a computer working your brakes, throttle and most of all, you don't want it parking itself.

I couldn't disagree with you more...

Computers are the best thing that have happened to cars.

Until they used an electronic throttle, there was very little value in traction control units!
My Magnum will smoke the tires with it turned off, but with it on, you almost can't slip on greased ice.
My dad's 400 horse 6.0 liter GTO will throw you back in your seat on a rain slick road, until you turn traction control off.

Although, in the automotive computer's infancy, they left something to be desired, but now they kick ass.
AND... some aspects have gone a little too far, like the "Black Box" feature that tells big brother what you did for the last 30 seconds before the crash.

actually i love anything OBD I. its the perfect amount of technology. OBD II is great when you have to diag. but too much work to mod. and tune. and anything carb. is too complicated for me.

as for toyota, i was a tech there when all of that was happening and honestly it was more hype than anything.

i just wish this truck would get better mileage. i get 16-17mpg right now. what are you guys getting? anyone thought about running dual tanks? anyone know how those systems work?

Earl,

On your blue EX CAB what is the button on the driver side of the shifter console? Dan

shifter interlock. thats what lets you shift without putting your foot on the brake.
