Okay so i see a ton of u guys do your own work. Does anyone know of a welder that is setup for a regular 110/120 volt outlet that won't totally break the bank? I'm not looking to weld super thick metal just average sheet metal and maybe brackets. Thanks as always guys.

A 100 amp mig should suit your needs.
Harbor Freight has some cheaper units that some people have been happy with.
I have a Lincoln that ran about $500 a few years ago. I wouldn't part with it.

What does a tank rental/purchase and gas fill add to the cost?

I have that Hobart 140 and it's a pretty good machine. Use gas and solid wire. You should be able to get a bottle and stuff from a welding shop for pretty cheap. I pay like 6 bucks a month for mine. 65 or so to refill.

ive had a hobart 140 and currently have a lincoln 140 both great machines. man if you have 220 though id get a 180 if you can. like 100 bucks more but you can do quite a bit more with it

Thanks guys for the input I know some of you don't want me to go harbor freight but I probably will being that I'm on a pretty tight budget and I have a 220 Hobart I just don't have an easily accessible 220 outlet. The main reason I'm looking into one is because the previous owner of my truck shaved the handles and didn't use filler plates they just filled it with fiberglass and I don't know why but it keeps cracking and I've tried to grind it down and bondo/glass over it and just when I get it smooth I wait like a day or two and close the door hit a bump ect it cracks! So yeah unless you guys have another idea I think welding in some metal is my best bet. Thanks again and I realize I'm getting kinda rambly if that's a word... I'm tired
