I have yet to get the chance to try a TIG welder. I have always wanted to, maybe some day I'll reward myself with one.

Dude thanks for that! I'm already gathering all different types and thickness metals to practise with... And I don't even have the welder yet lol I think getting this welder is more exciting than I expected it to be... But makes me more nervous about doing the welds on my truck... I really don't want to mess them up since there so crucial to get right and so bad to get wrong... I'm going to build a custom motorcycle trailer before I touch the truck and see how that turns out. If that works out good than maybe I'll attempt my truck... Or find some help but ether way I'm so excited to start welding! Always wanted to learn how to weld good... And build random crazy shit lol

Tig welding is fun, kinda felt like overly exaggerated soldering lol granted I never got very good at it just to the point we're I could weld a soda can back together and it be air tight... Looked horrible but worked lol

Only thing I can add is, don't use one of those orange extension cords. Get a big fat one that will carry the amps. I had trouble with mine until I figured out the extension cord was to small.

Good advice, thanks! I'll make sure to get a good one.

Question, are there any welding gloves that aren't so bulky and weird to wear? I use them at work all the time (I heat treat piston rings at work) but there so bulky I can't use them for anything more complex than holding a rod to pull fixtures out of the ovens, anything like a mechanics style glove that would work? A little more control and comfort?
