Ok I'm about to ask a very stupid question. I'm going to buy a engine stand to use while rebuilding... How do I use it... I've never used one before and really don't want a motor falling because I didn't know what I'm doing. I have a basic idea but where do you bolt it to and what bolts do I use.

You will need a set of bolts to go through the engine stand and into the back of the block. They will need to be long enough to make sure you have a good connection. I forget how many you'll need.

Use your engine hoist to hold it in place while you attach it to the engine stand.

It's not difficult.

Bolts to the clutch side right? Does it matter which holes I screw it to? And should I get grade 8... Or more accurately the metric version of grade 8 bolts.

Sweet buy!
You'll figure out the engine stand no problems, don't worry about it, you can always put the engine on the ground if you don't have the correct bolts first off. If you're lucky you can use the bolts that hold the transmission to the block
