if you do a mini c notch,you wont have holes in the bed at all. All you're doing is cutting half way into the bottom of your frame. Take a 4" diameter piece of pipe and cut it in hald so you get two C's out of it. Cut a 2" C into each frame rail above the axle and weld in your C notches you made from the pipe. Now you will have an extra 2" of suspension travel and won't bottom out anymore,and you didn't have to cut your bed and nobody will ever notice the notches unless you get under the truck or take the wheels off.

you might want to measure your compressed shock length because of how our shocks mount you don't loose any travel from drop blocks. I am running 3" blocks main and helper leaf and if I was to mini notch mine wouldn't bottom out.

I was running ProComp Toxic drop shocks. They are really beefy. They've got a shorter stroke and really stiff damping,but they make a lowered truck ride like a Cadillac.

You can also use Belltech or Nitro drop shocks,but if you search around the site,you'll see a lot of the guys love the Toxic shocks.

The rear Toxic shocks are actually the same for a Ford Explorer,but the front ones are different.

When I bought mine,I paid $77 CDN each for them. A little pricey,but they were worth it. I think you can get them online at Stylinconcepts for like $30 ea.

i have the toxics, main/helper, and 3" and mines not hittin the frame, course i'm runnin 70 series 14" tires too. i'll probly do the mini notch after i get my tires on my 17's.
