So we are bagging my friends mazda at the shop. Figured you fellas would enjoy a build thread. We are doing it in stages as he can afford it. Right now, We are only doing the notch/bridge, 4-link and nitrogen bottle crossmember. Ill shut up now and get with the pics...
Here is how it was when it got dropped off at the shop.... Yes that is a HUGE exhaust tip on it..lol
Designed a HUGE notch, then proceeded to cut it on the plaz table. it didnt need to be that big, but he wanted an "exagerated" look...
fitting it up and checking specs o nthe design..
TIG welded all the cross pipes in the notch
Checking squareness with the bridge, getting it ready to weld in
Designed a bridge plate and cut it out on the plaz table
Checking fitment
got the notches welded in and the frame cut out.
I have the frame caps for the notch al cut out and ready to weld in, then we are diggin in to the 4 link... more to come, stay tuned!!

WOW that notch is HUGE!!! is he planning on running big rims? nice work though.... gotta love the plazma table... makes for some clean cuts...

thanks guys. He was talking about possibly doing a 20/22 combo or even a 22/24 combo... but for now he is running 17" denalis, they just arent on the truck right now.

he could be the first one to do a bag over axle in notch and still have room the table is just showing off a$$hole lol

^ LOL, I hear ya on the table Amigo, that is SICK! I have a plasma cutter but a plasma table would be the shizzle! As for the notch - yes its big but it's also in your face big! I like it. The tube work is pretty cool - have seen braces inside notch plates before but your idea shows off that work. Definitely keep us posted on this build, should be fun.

Thanks guys, I like hearing feedback from this forum. You guys know how to give constructive advice without being total dicks...lol
In the last picture you can see the "start" of the notched 4 link mount crossmember for the upper bars. We will have the underside of the notch capped and the 4 link installed this next week. Ill keep the pics coming as it progresses.
The plaz table is such a gift, its nice being in a shop that doesnt mind putting money into tooling. I cant tell you how many "generic" installs that I have done. Its nice being able to put a customs twist on the install.
